    Description
The term “cookies” refers to small strings of text (letter and/or numbers) which sites visited by the user send to the user’s terminal (usually the browser) or mobile device, where they are stored before being resent to the aforementioned sites upon subsequent visits by the same user. When browsing a given website, the user may also receive cookies on their terminal from different websites or servers (so-called “third parties”), which may contain certain elements (such as maps, images, sounds, links to specific pages from other domains) that are present on the site being visited by the user. The Italian authority governing privacy has subdivided cookies into two macro-categories: “technical” cookies and “profiling” cookies.
Technical cookies are those which are used only for the purpose of “transferring information on an electronic communication network, or insofar as it is strictly necessary to an Information Society Service Provider that has been explicitly requested by the Subscriber or User to deliver such service” (See art. 122, subparagraph 1, of Legislative Decree 196/20003). They are not used for other purposes and are usually directly installed by the owner or manager of the website. These cookies can, in turn, be subdivided into browsing cookies or session cookies, which guarantee the correct browsing experience and operation of the website (making it possible, for example, to make a purchase or authenticate a user who wishes to access a private area); analytics cookies, which are similar to technical cookies when used directly by the website manager to collect general data about how many users visit the site and how they do so; functional cookies, which allow the user to browse according a set of criteria selected by them (for example, language, products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service.
Profiling cookies are aimed at creating a profile of the user which is then used to advertise to said user according to their preferences, including implicit preferences collected from their web browsing. Given the considerable potential persistence and invasiveness of these tools to the user’s privacy, European and, particularly, Italian regulations state that users should be suitably informed regarding the use of these cookies, and they must give their valid consent for them to be used.
The Site www.fumogallery.com does not use commercial profiling cookies.

Characteristics and purpose of the cookies used

    • analytics cookies in order to enable obtaining statistical data (anonymously) about the User’s browsing methods that can be used to improve/enhance Site’s response to their more frequent navigation needs.
    Consent of the User/Browser
The user may or may not provide the data that the site requests from visitors in order to carry out certain activities or provide certain offered services; and users may withdraw their consent at any time by clicking the appropriate box, as shown below.
